Dog Sitting

This weekend we're looking after Willow which is always a pleasure.

I'm afraid there's no pictures today because my iMac is not working but eventually when it's better I'll be able to put some up.

On our way to pick Willow up this morning I saw a Hare and a number of birds lined up on a telephone wire, I couldn't see what they were but I should think they were Swallows gathering to begin their migration.

Later in the day we took Willow to Thetford Forest near Cranberry Rough (I love that name). When we arrived I could see a large number of small birds flitting from tree top to tree top but they were moving quite fast so I couldn't identify them.

Jan took Willow for a walk in the forest and I stayed in the car. Jan saw the birds and saw they were mainly Long Tailed Tits and Blackcaps. She also saw a Jay and a Grey Squirrell. On her way back to the car she saw a Gatekeeper, 2 Red Admirals and a Meadow Brown.

While I was sitting in the car I saw a Migrant Hawker Dragonfly which was just lazily cruising in amongst the trees. Then I noticed a Common Lizard on a post no more than a couple of metres from me, it was there for quite a time and I did video it but because it was through the car window it's not very clear. I also saw a large Butterfly, I thought it was a Silver Washed Fritillary but I didn't grt a long enough look at it to be absolutely sure.

Remember to keep your eyes peeled and good spotting.
