Buzzards & Butterflies

A Day At Home - Sunday 5th October 2014

Although the weather has turned decidedly Autumnal and the central heating has been on for the first time today it has been a lovely sunny day here in Norfolk.

Even though we haven't been out today the wildlife has come to us. Jan was putting some washing out on the line in the garden when she noticed two Buzzards soaring very high up on the thermals above our home.

A little bit later there were two Butterflies (a Peacock and a Small Tortoiseshell) and a Bee on the Buddleia outside our front window.

Our several Buddleia plants have been quite poor this Summer providing very little in the way of flower heads but the one outside our front window has just started to produce a few small flowers. I have seen several reports around the country of it being a poor year for Buddleia.

It is now less than four weeks to our holiday on the Isle of Mull and I am really beginning to look forward to it even though the daylight hours will be very short.

Keep your eyes peeled and good spotting.
