The Next Seven Days
Ospreys
RSPB Loch Garten 2011From Their Monitor
The first Osprey has been seen in the UK this week and several that have trackers on them are already heading North.
Will it be the first year that Ospreys nest in Norfolk. I know of one site that has been prepared but they could turn up anywhere. As more Ospreys breed they will gradually spread out over the country. At one time Ospreys were widespread across the UK but they were almost wiped out by man but now thanks to a concerted effort they are gradually making a comeback.
We were very fortunate to see Ospreys at Loch Garten in 2011 and the picture was taken from their monitor. Lets hope we catch a sight of them this year.
Partial Eclipse Of The Sun
This occurs in the Northern hemispere on Friday the 20th March. In our area it will occur between 7.41am and 11.50am GMT. Even if the weather is inclement you should still see the effects of the eclipse.
N.B. Please remember not to look directly at the Sun as it can cause lasting damage to your eyes.
There are other eclipses of the Moon and Sun this year and the details can be found on the above web page.
Keep your eyes peeled and good spotting.
