Another Small Murmuration

Watton – Friday 14th November 2014

I was up just after 1am so by the time we’d had breakfast and Jan was just about to leave for work (7.30am) I was absolutely shattered.

A Skein Of Geese Take Off From Holkham Fresh Marsh on Wednesday This Week

I was looking out of our living room window about 8.45am when I saw a very small murmuration of Starlings (50-60 birds). I have seen this a few times now, there are no great shapes or swirls but even so it is always interesting to watch these events.

I am now completely out of my daily routine and feeling exhausted but feeling quite pleased with myself having just booked another week’s holiday on the Isle of Mull for May next year. We’ve never been to Mull in May and haven’t spent much time around Loch Scridain so I’m already feeling excited about that.

I always feel so much better when I have something to look forward to. I suppose when I was involved in full time ministry, I was always working at full tilt so I didn’t always have a lot of time to think about the future but now I am retired that’s all I have now, is time and in buckets so it is good to have something to look forward to.

I’m still working on the videos.

Keep your eyes peeled and good spotting.
